Quite happy with my selection, and utterly ignorant of how the game used stats and traits, I entered. I played through the tutorial which was as all tutorials are, basic enough to demonstrate the various ways of navigating the environment but little beyond that.Īfter completing the tutorial and eventually backing out I decided to 'roll my own' and began to build my founding trinity of survivors, completely unaware of how useful or what the skills of each would do (perhaps I missed some sorely needed explanation of traits and stats), I felt a pang of dissapointment, as I'd been hoping for a cosmetically customisable leader/main character, but soon came to realise that was not to be the case, my dissapointment was curbed by the ability to "re-roll" the randomly selected founding members of my fledgling group of survivors until I found a combination of appearance and skills that I felt was acceptable. I selected the two friends, as I would ironically be playing it with my lifelong friend later. Logging in for the first time I was faced with selecting the partnership of characters with which to complete the tutorial, and noticed straight away the interesting way in which the selections are made and the relationship demonstrated, I liked it, it gave some small narrative. ![]() ![]() ![]() 'Dude, we've got to co-op State of Decay 2.'Ģ5gb later I was in, I'm playing on my XB1 but have the option through the excellent Play Anywhere feature to download it and continue on my PC (which I may do as the graphics will be far better, as my PC is a gaming rig beyond the specs of the XB1) I picked up a copy of State of Decay 2 last night, having not played the first installment in MS Studios & Undead Labs Zombie Survival game I didn't know what to expect, I hadn't read any posts on reddit, or any reviews - I went on the strength of a few sentences uttered by a friend to me:
